My story
My journey into physiotherapy started at Darley Boxing Club nine years ago, where I trained as an amateur boxer and helped coach evening classes. Being in that environment gave me first-hand experience of sports injuries and showed me how important physiotherapy is in helping people recover and perform at their best. The real turning point came when a gentleman with Parkinson’s approached us in the gym and explained that physiotherapists were recommending boxing training to help manage his condition. Hearing how physiotherapy could make such a big difference beyond just sports injuries really intrigued me. I went home that evening curious to learn more. From that point on, at 14 years old, I knew I wanted to become a physiotherapist and dedicated my studies to making that happen.

Full circle moment
After two years of college, three years at university, and two years working in the NHS, I found myself back at Darley Boxing Club. Coach Luke approached me with the opportunity to use an empty room within the club to offer private physiotherapy, bringing everything full circle. It’s incredibly meaningful to now be working in the same place that first sparked my passion for physiotherapy, supporting the same community that helped shape my journey.
What is OJK Physiotherapy
OJK Physiotherapy is a place where you get assessment, treatment, and advice all in one place. It’s sports massage and cupping delivered by someone who truly understands the human body and who uses these treatments because your assessment shows they’re the right tools for you, not just because they’re available.
It’s leaving your session informed, confident, and equipped to self-manage your condition, while knowing support is always there if you need it.
It’s being treated by someone who’s competed in sport, experienced injury, rehab, and recovery firsthand so you’re working with someone who genuinely understands what you’re going through.
